Senior Associate Cormac J. Leddy, Esq., focuses his 5+ years of legal practice on tort liability defense litigation and insurance defense/coverage. Mr. Leddy regularly represents the MTA, NYC Transit, MTA Bus, DASNY, construction companies of all sizes, governmental agencies, sureties, insurers, and owners in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury and tort liability defense litigation (including notice of claim issues), Labor Law §§ 200, 240, 241, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes, no fault Insurance Law § 5102 issues, indemnification issues, trials and appellate practice. Mr. Leddy regularly engage in all aspects of tort liability defense litigation, from initial case analysis and reporting, evaluation of alleged liability and injuries, review of accident reports, sustainable verdicts in the designated jurisdiction, discovery, court appearances, motion practice, 50-h hearings, extensive deposition experience, designation of expert witness, independent medical examinations, witness preparation, to trial preparation leading up to and including trial. As these cases frequently require strategic positioning and a demonstrated readiness to go to trial, Mr. Leddy consistently delivers summary judgment victories and favorable settlement terms.

While in law school, Cormac interned for the Honorable Salvatore Modica of New York State Supreme Court, Queens County. Throughout this experience, Cormac conducted legal research and prepared draft opinions in connection with a broad array of civil and criminal cases. Cormac also observed various court proceedings including pretrial motions, bench and jury trials, and evidentiary hearings. As a second-year, Cormac participated in the 2019 Tulane National Baseball Arbitration Competition and won the Best Written Advocate award. Additionally, in his second year, Cormac participated in the Judith S. Kaye Arbitration Competition and won fourth place.

Cormac earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, and his B.S. in finance from Fairfield University.
