Mr. Chan graduated with a business degree from the American University and earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University School of Law where he was an Associate Editor of the Moot Court Honor Society. Mr. Chan is a member of the New York and New Jersey bars and has been admitted to practice before the United District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.

Mr. Chan also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Karla Moskowitz of New York State Supreme Court - Commercial Division, New York County. Mr. Chan has been retained by clients facing a wide variety of legal issues, including negligence litigation, commercial and residential real estate and housing disputes, business and contract disputes of all kinds, and employment and sub-contractor agreement drafting and negotiations.

Mr. Chan has handled multi-million dollar matters in numerous litigation settings, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation, both federal and state, as well as appeals to the appellate courts. Mr. Chan is a member of the New York County Lawyers' Association, New York State Bar Association, and Asian American Bar Association of New York. Mr. Chan writes a weekly legal column for the Minority Commerce Weekly and is a regular guest speaker covering legal issues for businesses. Mr. Chan is also a volunteer attorney for the New York City Civil Court's "Volunteer Lawyers Project." Mr. Chan is fluent in Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin.
