It’s what separates
mediocre attorneys from
excellent attorneys. Laws
are written in black and
white but understood and
applied in shades of gray.
Laws, after all, must be
deciphered, decoded,
construed, and interpreted.
The law changes constantly.
If legal disputes were black
and white, if it were clear
who was going to win in
advance, there would be
little reason to pursue the
dispute – and little need
for lawyers. Every issue,
large or small, can be
resolved creatively and
efficiently – you only get
that which you and your
attorney can successfully
negotiate. Not every lawyer
looks for creative solutions
to problems because such
solutions may short-circuit
his or her billable hours.
As a Wilson & Chan client,
your interests are always
foremost in our mind. We
focus on the larger picture
in evaluating legal disputes
against potential legal
fees. We see the big picture
by advising clients to
implement measures to
minimize their risk exposure
– before the fact. Unlike
other law firms, we strive
to ground our advice on your
best interests, not our
fees. It has been our
experience that clients who
achieve efficient results at
a minimum of expense are
clients who will seek us out
again. A lawyer who ignores
the big picture, who sees
only the traditional black
and white issues, can never
provide as much value as one
whose approach is more
visionary and grounded in
the client’s success.
Somewhere along the line, it
seems, too many lawyers
forgot that their profession
exists to assist their
clients, not the other way
around. Our focus on our
clients’ success guides
everything we do.
That’s
Vision. That’s Wilson &
Chan. |
